中国农历新年 Chinese New Year

中国的农历新年,俗称“春节”。春节是中国最重要、最热闹的一个传统节日。今年的鸡年春节是在公历2017年1月28日。
春节临近时,人们忙着置办年货,打扫房屋,准备各种春节传统食物、贴春联、贴年画。春节最重要的内容是除夕夜全家人在一起包饺子、吃年夜饭、看春晚、守岁迎新春。春节当天,人们都穿上新衣走亲访友,孩子们会收到长辈给的压岁钱,寓意保佑一年平安健康。
春节期间各种丰富多彩的活动也竞相开展,如舞龙舞狮、春节庙会、灯会等,这样的活动一直持续到农历正月十五才结束,为新春佳节增添了浓郁的喜庆气氛。

Mid-Autumn Festival

The Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, is the most important and widely celebrated festival for Chinese people. 2017 Chinese New Year will fall on January 28. It is the Year of the Rooster according to Chinese zodiac. The preparation starts seven days before the Chinese New Year’s Eve, and the holiday celebration will last to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month.

Being one of the traditional festivals, it is the time for the whole families to reunite together, which is similar with Christmas Day to the westerners. The main traditional celebrations of the festival include eating reunion dinner with family, giving red envelopes, firecrackers, new clothes, and decorations. And the traditional performances such as dragon dances, lion dances and temple fairs can be seen all over China.
